Bob’s last song is one of my all-time favorites, “Lean on Me”. Although it wasn’t written as a Christian song, the spiritual implications are there in many ways. First, it can remind us that there are people out there who need a shoulder to lean on. Especially those that are falling or have fallen in a battle with transgressions or sins. Second, it can remind us that at times, WE need a shoulder to lean on. Hopefully we all have those good friends and family members who are there for us. Battles don’t have to be fought single-handed. Last, I hope the song reminds us that God is always there. No matter what battle we are fighting…how hard we have fallen…or how we might be hurting, close your eyes and find a quiet moment. In some way or another, you’ll hear God say, “Lean on me”.
Be blessed this week,
